Released in 2016 to mark Lagavulin's 200th anniversary and later promoted to the core range, the 8 Year Old is the distillery's youngest official bottling — a nod to Alfred Barnard, who in 1886 tasted an eight-year-old Lagavulin and called it 'exceptionally fine'. Bottled at 48% without chill filtration.

NOSE
Sharp, fresh peat smoke over sea spray and ash, with green apple, lemon zest and a little sweet malt underneath.
PALATE
Intense and drying — smoky bonfire, brine and white pepper, then a burst of citrus and vanilla sweetness that keeps it lively.
FINISH
Long, peppery and ashy, with lingering wood smoke and a faint saltiness.
