A 2022 Ardbeg Committee-exclusive limited release born from a 'happy accident' in November 2007, when a broken boiler forced the distillery into an unprecedented three-week open-washback fermentation — the longest in Ardbeg's history. Distilled from that uniquely fermented wash and matured 13 years in first-fill and refill ex-bourbon casks, it was bottled non-chill-filtered at 49.4% ABV.

NOSE

Fresh, floral, herbal and tart with hints of mixed herbs and cedar wood; very zesty and vibrant with smoked orange, grapefruit, menthol and peppermint.

PALATE

A lively, vibrant, sharp and zingy texture leading into malty/biscuit tones, powerful aniseed, cardamom, antiseptic lozenge, sweet mint toffee and cigar ash.

FINISH

Long and lingering with a salty, firm aftertaste of mint, tar, oak tannin and leather.
