A 2023 limited Committee Release in which barrel heads were removed, deeply scored, and intensely charred to a 'high mocha' specification before being refitted, producing a multi-dimensional dram balancing sweet, smoky, herbal, and spicy notes. Non chill-filtered and bottled at 48.2% ABV.

A/ Official tasting notes

NOSE

Earthy, dusty, and slightly biscuity; sooty and tarry notes are clear but restrained, balanced by silky vanilla, with water opening up smoked vetiver root, aniseed, fennel, chrysanthemum, and jasmine.

PALATE

Rich and multi-layered, morphing between chocolaty sweetness, intense mocha bitterness, herbal spice, and gentle peat smoke, with notes of dark chocolate, cocoa nibs, and grilled citrus.

FINISH

The sooty and tarry notes build to a crescendo of rich, smoky flavours, with a long, lingering aftertaste of charcoal, bitter almonds, and molasses.
