The third and final release in Ardbeg's limited-edition Vintage_Y2K millennium series, distilled in 2000 using the distillery's now-retired historic still. It is the first Ardbeg ever finished in Spanish Tempranillo red wine casks, sourced from Bodega Numanthia in north-west Spain.

A/ Official tasting notes

NOSE

Very subtly smoky, with hints of smoked blackcurrants, chilli chocolate, and a curious note of aged balsamic vinegar; a few drops of water reveal linseed oil and smoked paprika.

PALATE

Rich, spicy and smoky, with flavours of coffee grounds, dark chocolate, smoked fruits and a touch of BBQ spare ribs; classic Ardbeg medicinal notes of menthol, eucalyptus and camphor, with paprika, mustard seed and sweet chilli.

FINISH

Lingering and zesty, reminiscent of lime pickle and tar.
